Los Angeles So Far: Five Founders on the First Night

Two evenings on one Downtown rooftop. The first filled all five seats on stage. The second has nothing on its page.

From the Los Angeles event history on ascentvalley.com as of Oct 7, 2026, and the page of each evening. Company descriptions from their own applications to our startup base. This page is updated after each Los Angeles evening.

Our Los Angeles record is two evenings long, and on paper they could not be more different. On August 26 five founders pitched, and four of them now have a profile in our startup base. On September 23 we were back in the same room, and the page for that evening holds a date and nothing else.

August 26: the full stage

The evening ran as Startup Pitch & Themed Networking, from 7 to 10 PM at Florentín Rooftop Bar: tables first, then five pitches. In the order the record lists them:

SONARCH, pre-seed, works for architecture, engineering and construction firms. It plugs into the software a firm already uses, holds the zoning and building rules for a site, and answers a question in plain language with the source attached, so the answer can be put in front of a city reviewer.

ZOUNDSLIKE is on the record by name. It has no profile in our startup base yet, so there is nothing of its own for us to quote.

Zushki, pre-seed, starts from a chore: caregivers go to several stores for the supplies they need every week. It sells home healthcare, household and sustainable products in one place and plans a product line of its own.

Flavr, pre-seed, is a dating app that matches on food preferences. Matching is free. The plan is to earn only when a match becomes a date at a restaurant, because, by its own figure, fewer than 2% of matches on dating apps ever become a meeting.

Bridge Solutions, growth stage, is a private credit fund. It originates consumer loans secured by vehicles and is open to accredited investors. The evening's page →

September 23: a date and a room

Four weeks later the evening ran as Startup Pitch Night. Its listing promised pitches of five to eight minutes and tables on topics voted on before the night. Nothing from the evening itself is on its page: no names and no photographs from the room.

One rooftop

Both evenings were at Florentín Rooftop Bar, on the eighth floor of 617 South Spring Street, and so is every date ahead. Only two cities in these notes have never changed rooms, and this is one of them.

What the record doesn't hold

  • Who pitched on September 23. The page lists nobody.
  • Photographs from the room. Neither evening has any.
  • Head counts. We publish a number only when it comes from the check-in list, and none has been published for Los Angeles.

Next in Los Angeles

It falls in the middle of LA Tech Week. How to use it that week is in the Los Angeles guide.
