AI Tech Networking in Los Angeles 15 October

The evening

Most tech meetups are a talk with networking bolted on the end. This one is the other way round.

Engineers, technical founders and product people in Los Angeles. Three reasons people come back:

01

A table on your stack, not your job title

Tables are set by what you are building with, voted before the night: agents, infrastructure, data, developer tools, hardware. You sit with people solving the same class of problem.

02

Five minutes of product, not a keynote

Five builders, five minutes each: what it does, how it is built and what is in the way. Then the room asks the questions only other builders would think of.

03

The hour after

The stage ends and the floor stays open. That is when the stack debate from your table finishes, and when the hire or the co-founder conversation starts.

After the night

Your ticket is also a login

Most events end when you walk out. This one hands you a link: your profile, who else is coming before you get there, a chat for this specific evening, and a recap afterwards of who you actually met. Then you land in your city's space and stay there.

Who it is for

Is this your room?

  • Yes, if you write the code, ship the product or make the technical call: engineers, technical founders, ML and data people, product managers, and founders looking for their technical half.

  • Probably not, if you want a conference talk, a hackathon or a hiring fair. Nobody recruits from the stage and there is no panel.

The stage

Building with AI and want the five minutes?

The stage works the way it does on a pitch night: by application, read by a person, and we answer everybody. Applying is free; you need a ticket for the evening you present at.

Show the product, not the slide about the market. The room will ask about the architecture anyway.

Straight answers

What we don't promise, and what we do instead

We don't

  • We don't promise who will be in the room on a given evening, investors included. We won't tell you in advance, because we don't know.
  • We don't run a judging panel, hand out a prize or keep a leaderboard.

Instead

  • An application to the stage becomes a profile in our startup directory, read by a person, in front of the funds and angels in our network.
  • Hosts make introductions on request through the evening, and your city's space keeps the thread going after it.
  • We never sell your details, take equity or take a cut of your round.
How the directory works

Why it's worth an evening

01You find the people in your city working on the same class of problem, which is rarer than it sounds.

02You hear which stack decisions other teams regret, before you make them.

03You leave with names for a hire, a co-founder search or a second opinion on your architecture.

Bring the engineer friend who keeps saying they will start something. An evening with people building the same kind of thing is the fastest way to find out whether they should.

What brings you here?

At the door you write your role and your ask on a sticker.

Most asks sound like one of these. Any of them is a good reason to come.

  • I want to grow
  • I came with a problem
  • I've hit a ceiling
  • I have an idea, I want your honest take
