SUM INNOVATION INC builds web3 infrastructure, starting with digital mail and verifiable credentials for institutions seeking secure alternatives to incumbent platforms. Universities and employers can issue transcripts, degrees, and employment records on SUM Chain, our Rust-native L1 chain designed for real utility and not token speculation. Content is encrypted and stored via SNIP, our decentralized storage network, so only the intended recipients can decrypt. Computational power is coordinated via the OmniNode protocol, our decentralized AI compute protocol. Proofs are handled at consensus as a first-class concern, not bolted on as an application-layer afterthought.
Challenge
Credential and data systems are consolidated into honeypots that fail at scale. The Instructure incident compromised 275 million records from 8,800 institutions, marking the second breach of this vendor in eight months, while traditional transcript providers continue to charge $3 to $8 for each access on databases. At the same time, AI computing and storage are becoming concentrated among a few providers.
