When a defect or yield problem hits a manufacturing line, a process engineer has to investigate. This entails pulling, cleaning, and plotting data over-and-over again, in order to try and root-cause the issue. It can take upwards of 45 minutes per plot (tens of which will be made for any given investigation). This is repetitive, error-prone, and results in issues remaining unsolved for weeks, costing millions.
